HOW WE PLAY

2 x 15 minutes of effective playing time (max 45 minutes)
All games will be played at Vuokatti Areena, using two ice rinks
The game schedule will be created based on the registered teams, and team preferences will be taken into account and accommodated as much as possible. Games will begin on Saturday morning and conclude by approximately 6 PM on Sunday
The tournament follows the rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association’s recreational hockey. Body checking and slap shots are not allowed
All games are played in a single 50+ age group.
The tournament format will be determined based on the number of registered teams. All teams are guaranteed multiple games, and the schedule will include group-stage matches followed by placement games whenever applicable. Detailed structures (groups, playoffs, finals) will be announced once team registration is complete
Minor penalties last 1 minute. A player receiving three minor penalties will be ejected from the game — same applies to major penalties. So don’t do anything foolish!
In the 50+ division, the minimum age is 50 years — there is no upper age limit.
Each team is allowed to include up to 3 underage players, as long as they are at least 45 years old.
A player may represent only one team within the division.
The tournament uses GameresultsOnline for live scoring. A direct link will be available here on the site.
Each game will have one official responsible for recording game events and managing the penalty box door.
Can’t play without them! Each game will be officiated by two certified referees from the local referee association.
The home team (listed first in the schedule) will wear either dark or light jerseys. The away team must adjust accordingly and choose a clearly contrasting color.
Jersey numbers are mandatory for referees and live scoring purposes.
The tournament has an official jury responsible for deciding on sanctions in cases of serious misconduct. The jury consists of the tournament director (from the organizing committee), the referee-in-chief from the referee association, and the referees who officiated the game in question.
The tournament fee will be invoiced to teams before the start of the tournament, with a 14-day payment term.
