VUOKATTI CUP U8
The Easter weekend Vuokatti Cup gives U8 players lots of hockey and a real two-day tournament experience at Vuokatti Areena.
The tournament takes 24 playing groups, and every group plays no fewer than 10 games over the weekend.
Games are played cross-ice on half a rink with 4 skaters and a goalie, using a standard black puck and full-size goals. Each game runs 26 minutes of running time, with a buzzer every two minutes for line changes.
Results are recorded. Preliminary groups are followed by placement groups, so every group plays the same number of games and final tournament standings are decided.

Two rinks and four games running at the same time make for a tight tournament rhythm — and 10 games for every playing group over the weekend.
FROM PRELIMSTO PLACEMENT GAMES
The tournament opens with preliminary groups. After that, groups move on to upper and lower placement groups based on their preliminary results.
Every playing group plays 10 games in total, and final standings are decided.
Groups from the same club are formed as evenly as reasonably possible, and players normally stay in their registered group throughout the tournament. Detailed tournament rules will be published later.

Is accommodation mandatory in the junior tournaments?
In the U12–U15 tournaments the Vuokatti Cup All Inclusive package is a condition of entry. For U9–U11 it is not currently defined as mandatory.

Yes. Overnight equipment storage is arranged for every team for the tournament.
How quickly do we need to clear the locker room after a game?
In about 15 minutes, so the space is free for the next team.
Can tournament players use the swimming pool?
Vuokatti Cup participants have free access to the Vuokatti Areena swimming pool during the tournament, within opening hours. Exact times are announced per tournament.
